He's not saying that gays have more rights now. He doesn't want things in place that give them more rights somehow than straight people. Which is fair.

Nobody said that gay people were getting more rights than straight people.

However, it seems that sometimes that various groups of people who are fighting for "equality" won't be happy with "just" equality. They seem to want preferential treatment instead.
