Why do you NEED an AK47?

The answer is: I don't. However, if I wanted to live in a country where I only got what I needed, I'd move to China. Got it?

Nice... Accept I prefer my XM-15 and My Beretta 92fs. A good old Mossberg is still tops though.

Mossberg 500's are tough to beat. Those and Remington 870s.

I have a Beretta 94 (Subcompact .380) and I love it. I really miss my Taurus .45 though. It got stolen a couple of years ago and never got recovered.

One of the reasons I prefer the AK over any of the Armalite clones is reliability: While the AR15/M16 is much more accurate than the AK, and has been improved to be more reliable over the years, I still hear complaints from soldiers over in the sandbox about their weapons jamming on a fairly regular basis. I like having a weapon that I know is going to go "bang" every time I pull the trigger, regardless of how much sand, mud, or salt is caked in it.

Also, in the now highly unlikely event that we get invaded by the commies, they're likely to be sporting AKs, which means that their corpses will provide me with many fresh sources of weapons, parts, and ammunition. ;) Unless Israel invades us, I doubt that any sort of "enemy" will be packing M16s.

I like the slide release button better on Mossbergs... the front of trigger thing is kinda akward on the 870.

I prefer 1911 frame .45's to any taurus auto pistol. About all taurus makes that I want it the M608 its an 8 shot .357 revolver... just want an 8 shooter I guess.

I agree on being able to scavenge ammo from the dead terrorists and commies part... but after I run out of .223 and cannot scavenge off of dead allied bodies then perhaps I will scavenge an AK off a commie body with all the ammo. Oh and Canada and Mexico also use the M16 for their Military and I believe a coupel South American countries as well... although the Belgian FN rifles are far superior to both the AK and AR in my opinion.
