A kick in the pants
I found out the other day that my second cousin who was only a year older than I am (and I last saw him when I was in grade school) died of a heart-attack. I'll be 35 next week. That's too young to die. -

Yesterday we (My MIL, Wife and Son) ate at an honest to goodness pharmacy lunch counter. The last one I ever saw was in my hometown of Suffolk. There were a few there but the pharmacies have since closed down. I've been on an "on and off again" search for an authentic one for awhile now. I would love to write something about the RNC and the news surrounding it. Other than Senator Thompson's speech last night, though, there is really nothing of real substance to write about!
I wonder what would have happened if Fred brought that energy to the campaign trail. Maybe we would have a different nominee...

Sleep. Want.
Now that the Olympics are over I figured that I could get some sleep.* Of course the DNC starts tonight and I'd love to argue with whomever is speaking at the moment**. Then when that's over the RNC starts and I tend to argue with whomever is speaking there too***. So it looks like I won't get to sleep until October.
