Writing and anonymity

Depression often causes anhedonia and lack of motivation. This has certainly been the case with me. I often go back and forth with myself about how long I was experiencing issues before I got to the stage of actually visiting my GP. I like it.

i always thought/felt that writing kept me sane long before any suspicions or diagnoseseseses of depression... and these days i dont write anything at all ever.

Maybe I will make an attempt to write something soon too...

LJ was for the longest time my safest place on the internet to write and post, thanks to the lock feature and my limited friends list (all freaks). But even then I was overly conscious of the non-private, linger forever nature of the internet. I was always afraid to post about work and even gave friends pseudonyms ( ... )

I hate Facebook and Twitter. I'm glad I never signed on for Twitter and I wish I'd never bothered with Facebook. But if I hadn't, I would have lost touch with everyone I met on the world wide web. I really miss the days when we would all journal and rant and be silly with each other ( ... )

If no one had bothered with Twitter and Facebook then we'd prob all still be journalling and ranting and being silly. I miss it too but times move on I guess. The community got lost because all of us changed our behaviour. Either due to circumstances changing such as myself and yourself I guess and also because all of us for some reason decided that while we were all still interested in knowing what was going on in others' lives they weren't interested in ours. There was a decidedly flawed perception of no demand so supply dried up ( ... )
