I had a good day today. I played so many games of chess it was just stupid. I won a lot of them too, but as I told someone earlier, I do not play chess in a competitive way. Things have been good. I am only working three days a week and it rocks. Yesterday the feeling of having too much free time for the first time in a long time. Thoughts on the election: the Democrats didn't win. The Republicans lost. In other words, there was no shift from conservative values in elected officials towards progressive ones. It was a move away from the Bush administration's failures and the official curruption. But a lot of the Democrats filling in seats for disgraced are just more big money ( Read more... )

I had such a miserable day at work. The kind that has you crying and thinking about your options for quitting. My options for quitting: limitless. I could ask for a transfer, I could just quit, I could go back to Trader Joe's, I could ask Pat Wright if his union is hiring, I could play music on the street. Yesterday I went The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in SF yesterday. I went with Coral and her kids, who whould always and forever be known as "The Kids". My work schedule has been re-worked, partially in my favor partially not. Ive asked for 3 or 4 days, and got it. But now I ONLY work closing shifts. 1:00-9:30? Fucking shit.
