just got back last night from my trip to paris and berlin. after driving myself crazy with way too much work, i hopped on a plane the next day for paris. 2 days there which were wonderful and amazing (despite the insane wind/rain/what the hell was going on with the weather). it was definitely not enough time. at all. i totally want to go back ( Read more... )

I went to see a play in Southwark this afternoon and as I was coming home I decided to get off the tube a stop early at Notting Hill Gate.  I wandered around the neighbourhood looking at the houses and I couldn't stop thinking that I live in the most beautiful place in the world.

I'm sitting on the train just passing through Peterborough right now. I've left Leonard in London so I'm writing by hand to type up later. Claire and I are on our way to Edinburgh this weekend. On Wednesdays' Art History class we ended up doing a walking tour of Spitalfields, an area in East London.  Basically we started at White Chapel art gallery then wandered around for a few hours and ended up at the White Cube gallery.  Along the way we stopped at Christ Church Spitalfields which is architecturally significant because of its use of ( Read more... )

Yesterday (Monday) after Urban Studies class I was talking to Geertje (the professor) and when we left the building everyone else had gone.  So I decided I needed to pick up sketching pencils from an arts supplies store (all of our profs want us sketching for our final projects).  We got directions from a local bookshop and I left on the bus to go ( Read more... )

Sunday night I ended up going to see the fireworks from Blackfriars Bridge with a group of people from Victoria League.  They were part of the Thames Festival going on this weekend.  It may have only been 10 minutes of fireworks but they were the nicest fireworks that I've ever seen (and probably bloody expensive ( Read more... )
