Thanks for coming to the gig by the way, didn't get to speak to you as I was stuck by the merch afterwards!

My pleasure, it was just over the road after all, it would have been rude not to :D

I actually ended up smelling of smoke after last Saturday, for the first time in months. I wonder if that just came from the door being open in the SpeakEasy.

Yeah I noticed that, I think it was the Tap, I think the whole place just smells of smoke!

Yeah, I thought it was the Tap too, but I didn't want to admit in public that we'd been to the Tap. Thanks Jen. ;)

Well, you have to pop in there occassionally to remind yourself why you don't do it more frequently!

Basically,

I've had a book on hold at uni for over a month now and it's still not come though. today I went and spoke to them at the help desk. (i wish you were sat at our help desk but thats something different) and they looked and apparently it's been on loan SINCE 2002 and has not been returned!!!!

Now my question is, had this not been realised until I tried to get the said book out and reported it that it had been missing since 2002!? At a 10p fine a day that it's late that like 365*5 = 1825 * 10 = £182.50! I bet the book is worth less

that is all....

Well, this sort of thing happens a lot I'm afraid.

Students often don't return books basically because they are selfish! They should do a sweep occassionally to see what hasn't been returned and buy replacement copies, but it could either have fallen through the net, or they may be understaffed and unable to undertake those kind of jobs.

A lot of books in uni libraries go missing and because people don't report it they stay missing, so well done for reporting it. They should be able to get the book from somewhere else on interlibrary loan if you need it in a hurry, as it's not your fault that it's gone missing.
