“It’s… It’s…”

“Thoughtful?” Elijah offered.

“Unexpected.” Craig supplied.

“A surprise?” Dom asked, though the look on his face made it clear he thought it was anything but a surprising.

“Useful!” Billy piped up, then hid behind his glass at the look Liv gave him.

“Orlando.” Ian said definitively.

“Well, are you going to tell the rest of us, or just make us guess?” Viggo called out from where he was sitting on the couch with Miranda curled up against him.

“Bungee jumping,” Orlando said, his face lit up with a grin so large it looked like it had to hurt.

“A gift certificate,” Liv elaborated, tucking the piece of paper back into the envelope.

“For bungee jumping?” Sean asked, almost disbelieving. “A gift certificate for bungee jumping?”

“Yeah,” Orlando said, almost bouncing over next to Sean’s chair. “Cool huh?”

“What on earth made you think of a bungee jumping gift certificate?” Sean asked, looking up at Orlando.

“Well,” Orlando said, looking very proud of himself. “I figured if I couldn’t get her something I knew she’d want, I’d get her something that would remind her of me.”

“Uh huh,” Sean said, looking anything but convinced. “Perhaps you should feel free to skip my birthday then.”

“Ha, you wish!” Orlando said before moving to stand next to Liv. “So, do you like it?” he asked.

“It’s very… you, Orli,” Liv said, leaning up to kiss his cheek.

“See, I told you she’d like it,” Orlando said, sticking his tongue out at Dom.

“Yeah, I’ll believe it when she actually does it,” Dom responded, handing Orlando another beer.

“Quarters?” Elijah piped up, grabbing a fresh beer for himself. “I’ll bet a round next time we go out.”

“Two rounds,” Billy called out, gabbing two beers and steering toward an empty spot in front of the coffee table. “Who else is playing?”

“If Orli’s in, I’ll play,” Craig said with a laugh. “Uncoordinated and a lightweight. I’m guaranteed not to be the first one passed out.”

“Does this mean I’m going to be stuck driving your drunk arse home?” Karl called, laughing out as Orlando flipped Craig the bird. “Because if it does, I get a share of your winnings.”

“He still has to get through us first,” Dom said, wrapping an arm around Craig and pulling him into the group.

“And not all of them are as bad as that Southern Softy over there,” Sean called out.

“Hey, I saw what you looked like after you played with them last time, Northern Bastard,” Orlando said, ignoring Liv’s muttering about male posturing taking over her party.

“I’d like to see you do half as well doing two on one,” Sean replied with a snort.

“I don’t know, Orlando might do well two on one,” Elijah said, wrapping his arms around Orlando’s waist from behind and smiling at Sean.

“Oi, I saw you with those girls in the club Wednesday night,” Orlando said, swatting at Elijah’s arm. “You’re not one to talk.”

“You’re just jealous,” Elijah said, sliding around Orlando and sticking his tongue out. “You just wish you got laid as much as I do.”

“Yeah, and I just wish I had standards as low as you,” Orlando said, shaking his head at Elijah.

“Hey, you planning on joining us over here?” Dom called from the table. “Or are you going to chatter like girls all night…. Ow!”

“Good shot,” Viggo said as Miranda’s soda can squarely hit the back of Dom’s head.

“Yeah, yeah, we’re coming,” Orlando said, pushing Elijah ahead of him.

“Not on the carpet,” Billy called out. “I don’t think Liv wants to clean the carpet after you do…”
