Hi there! Thanks for adding me to your Friends list... I've particularly enjoyed seeing your photos, and I know you are also the mom of boys... I look forward to connecting to you via LJ. :)
Oh heck yeah - climb aboard! I post some of my photographic works-in-progress here, and I have a photojournal at jmpshots which is my "official" blog for my business. Looking forward to getting to know you!
Cool. I added the photojournal, too. :) I put you on my baby filter since you have kids too but please let me know if you'd rather not be on it. (I won't be offended. I know I post to it a lot!)
Baby!!!! I love babies. But I guess I'm done with the baby thing. I have two boys, ages eight and four, and they're quite a handful. A lot of my posts center on their mischief, so be prepared!
Hi, Im Jeanne's neice,jovigirl8December 19 2007, 20:14:11 UTC
Jovi. I just got my Mom a Canon Powershot A560 for Christmas, and Jeanne told me that you were the authority on photography and cameras, so I was wondering if maybe you knew whether or not it was a good camera. My Mom has always been into photography, and wanted a camera for quite some time but never got one because she always thought they were too expensive. I've been doing research online and I've read some rave reviews, as well as some thumbs down ones, so I'm just wondering who to believe. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! and Merry Christmas!

Hi there!
I'm definitely a fan of Canon (all my gear is Canon), so that's a good choice from the start. I looked through the specs for the A560 and they look great. Good megapixels (you really don't need anything more than 7.1 for general shooting, and it will print very nicely at 8x10 or even a little bigger. The 4x optical zoom is good. If the camera offers an additional digital zoom, ignore it. Digital zooms destroy pictures. Use optical only. And it looks like it has good manual controls and special scene modes - always handy if you want to get more creative with your shots.
In fact, I think I might pick up this little camera for myself. My old point-and-shoot is on its last legs, and I like to have something small to carry around in my purse.
I hope this helped you, and that your mom loves the camera!
I've added you to my f-list, so you can read all of my boring posts. :)

Wow, Thank you so much! I feel much better about it now, and believe me Jeanne appreciates it as well as I've been driving her crazy about the whole thing. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! :)
