On the day before Christmas break, Griffin's UPK class had a snow party. They all got bundled up and headed outside to make snow angels and have snowball fights and just have a good time. And after returning to the classroom, there was hot cocoa!

Winter has definitely returned to Central New York! We've had almost non-stop snowfall the past couple of days, and now everything is covered in that chilly blanket of white. I grabbed these shots from our front porch this morning while waiting for Grant to get on the bus.

Has it really been almost two weeks since my last post?? I've definitely had many things keeping me busy, and one of those things was a fun portrait session with the Geitner family. Monday was a beautiful autumn day here in CNY. Mostly cloudy but with some breaks of sun, and thanks to my strict "no raking" policy there were plenty of leaves in the back yard. Today we attended a birthday party for one of the boys' cousins. One of our goals for today was to get a group picture. There are six total cousins (including my boys) and they have never been in the same picture together. Halloween was a multiple-day affair for us this year. Between Cub Scouts, church, schools and regular ol' trick-or-treating, the boys got a lot of use out of their costumes!

Still in search of beautiful fall colors, this afternoon I hopped in my car and headed out on the back roads of Granby. Much progress has been made in the foliage in just the past week. And the best part? I didn't even need to leave my car to grab these pictures. I did, however, need to slam on the brakes to avoid a flock(?) of wild turkeys ( Read more... )

These are a few of the pictures I took a couple of weeks ago up at "The Loop" in Oswego. It was just past sunset and the light was beautiful. Mostly I was just playing around with different exposure settings and practicing for low-light situations, but I did end up with some I really liked.
