Lots of cities are having breed specific legislation. It scares the hell out of me. What's next, ya know? Did you see the news article where a judge told two people that they couldn't expose their child to their "non-mainstream" religion? That was nice too...

Yeah, Kansas City has that ban of pit bulls. My best friend there has one and she's the sweetest most adorable thing ever and wouldn't ever even begin to hurt a fly.

As for our country and our freedoms, don't even get me started. I could go on for pages and pages.

Y'know, we teach our dogs to generalize by taking them to new places and practising our commands. They aren't good at generalizing, but we work hard on this, b/c they need to understand that a sit in the living room is the same as a sit at the beach or in obedience class. Banning one breed and taking the freedom to enjoy it's company is EXACTLY the same as taking the freedom to enjoy another breed. I want to go protest somewhere!

I just wanted to let you know that your puppy is sooo cute!!! Yes I agree with your arugument! That is the stupidest law...if they are going to pick and choose y not choose some other mean breeds and for long the nicest breed will bite someone and that will be banned too! People should be banned lol...

There is no "mean" breed. Only mean people who teach dogs to be bad.

Thanks! I think she's a cutie, too;)

Oh I know there is no mean breed but people like to place them in a category! Yes I agree people make them mean! My friend had the sweetest pit and would never hurt a fly! They didnt teach it to be mean! Unlike some other people!

I don't know much about dogs, but I have to say that i dislike that type of ban because they've done the same thing to some types of bird too. My example? The Quaker Parrot.

Im not American and so Im not really qualified to comment on why the country imposes crazy laws sometimes or why its just utterly crazy in general sometimes (I just look on in bemusement)

As far as the dog thing goes all I know is that I totally agree that dogs are not responsible for their owners and that most dogs are bad because thats how their owners treat them.

BUT I also know that pitbulls were originally bred to be vicious attack dogs and that out of all dog attacks in the world pit bulls are the biggest killer!!

Even with that in mind and also being quite cautious of dogs especially pitbulls I still think the law is crazy!!!! In the uk the law says that in public all "dangerous" animals should be kept muzzled and i think that makes perfect sense! If it cant bite you whats the problem?

Banning them is just gonna cause some nut to keep 40 of them in a basement which will end up in somebody getting seriously hurt!! (probably the poor dogs!!)

ARE YOU FREAKING STUPID????? Pitties WERE NOT EVER bred to be attack dogs. Pitties were bred to fight DOGS, and NEVER EVER be human aggressive. It is a horribly bred pitbull that goes after ANY human, for ANY cause.

But it happens. All too often. It's very tragic.

Sure it does, but they weren't bred to be vicious attack dogs.
