Shocking for this time of year, I know. But, I just had to do a little happy dance.

As of this afternoon, an editor at Samhain has offered me a contract for my novelette ‘A Road Not Taken’. It’s scheduled for publication sometime in mid fall of 2012.

At this rate I’ll have one

Who said you had to start big? You have an outside job and a young child. One novella a year is ... more than you had done two years ago, yes? I don't know how any parent of at-home kids finds the time to write at all. Congratulations!

Thank you. It definitely is a higher number of finishes from two years ago (: I have some stories which I started but never finished (for a variety of reasons), so I can get some of those rolling as well.
(And I do it by being a troll in the basement... I sometimes wonder if I'm not spending enough time with the family... but no one complains. I think I'm balancing it well enough)

I expect your family will come looking if they miss you. Your kid has two parents, after all.

This is entirely true. They sit on the couch and watch movies, and I pop up and give a round of kisses every once in a while. Sometimes I even take the night off! *gasp*!
