Well, I have never taken a self portrait...
So this was hard to figure out...
And I consulted Shannyn and she said if I was going to ever use any of the ones I took, (narrowed down to 10) that these two were the way to go. For those of you who saw my old hair, you'll notice the difference in colour and bangs, but it is dark, and my hair only looks

Well. You're gorgeous.
and the only thing I hated about my septum, was that it hurt for two months after I got it pierced.
I got it pierced in December, and just recently, it's stopped hurting all together, and I can change the jewelry now.

But yeah, so far the septum doesn't hurt, like unless I bump my nose, or like, I forget I have it flipped up in there and I go to pick my nose.. So I'm optimistic.

My piercer is like a fucking ninja. I can't believe how like fast and stealth he is. Everything he's done is just really a non-hassle... but he said that it would be 6 weeks to two months before I should consider switching the retainer out for a ring, so I'll just have to wait and see... but yeah, waiting is hard.. I want to wear it down now. But.. Patience is a virtue I hear.

Bumping my nose was the worst, or when I had to blow my nose -_- Keeping it flipped up hurt more for me, but mine is pierced kind of high up.
I wanted to take it out so many times when I got frustrated, but I'm glad I didn't. // I plan on getting in pierced again [double septum]

The guy I went to, does a really great job with piercings too. I definitely plan on going back to him for more work. //

What size did you get it pierced at?

Yeah, that is me at about 16 in my icon... I have had this live journal since I was in grade 11, so I kept some of the old icons on for fun... I really liked eye make-up back then.

I pierced at a 16g, so nice and small. If I want it bigger I can always stretch it a bit. Dylan (my ex) had his up to a 5g at one point when he was in high school... which I would never go as big as, but it is nice to know I could go a bit bigger without issue.

I find that the biggest issue is forgetting it is there, and then I wash my face or nuzzle the cats and suddenly I'm like "fuck me!" because if I could just remember that I had it it would probably never hurt.

My friend Amber has a double septum. I think that looks soooo good. I don't think I'll do it because I have to flip this one up at work as it is.. but that's awesome that you're getting a second!

I like the 2nd self-portrait. It's quite beautiful. You rarely ever put any sort of picture of yourself up. It's nice.

You had put up a batch of new pictures previously and I meant to comment on those as well. I was going to say "Those are the best pictures yet!" I think you had used a new camera if I recall correctly. I'm horrible at recalling information and restating them in a coherent form. If someone were to tell me "Red cats like to eat salamanders." I would restate that as -Cats, Salamanders, eaten, red by them. I talk pretty.

Yeah, I am so used to taking pictures of other people that I never get any taken or me, nor do I ever take any of me. It is weird... and I'm trying to take advantage of having a digital camera now, so I can take pictures of myself and not just be wasting film... haha

I have been using a new camera for a few months now. Made the switch from film after like 12 years of shooting only with film. It has been a fun change. It is definitely different... not worse, or better... just different. But thanks for the compliment!... and I totally get the pretty talk. explain need no worry don't. :D
