Either leave it in a sunny spot or wrap it in a towel and put it on top of a radiator for 48 hours. Then try turning it on. This works a lot of the time.

Eee! I had opened it up and set it out to dry as soon as I realized what I'd done ... and ... now it works! *squee!*

Well... sort of working. It'll need time, methinks, and it may never make full working capacity again, BUT! I will be able to get my numbers out of it :)
