I'd forgotten all about this little slice of the internet until I got a "happy 20th anniversary!" email this morning.

I wonder if there's still anyone here. Whenever LJ has popped into my head the last, oh, 9 years or so it's been more as a "Well, *that* was a time on the internet" kind of thought than any idea people might still use it.

Anyway,

I just found out that an old, historic bridge over the Cedar River has been destroyed by the floods, and the impact of the Iowa flooding finally hit me. A gorgeous and friendly bridge where boaters and bikers would spend summers enjoying the view, food, and company is now gone.
