I wondered.....

It's been more than five years that I really worked out and at that time my left knee really swelled up and started really hurting. I went to the doctor and he said I probably had a "bad knee" and didn't really tell me much more, just to watch it when I exercised and to try and not to "strain it." Well, after that, my knee was probably the key ( Read more... )

Yes, it sounds like you would know. If you don't mind me asking...I guess I haven't caught on just yet...what kind of health problems do you have? I ask mostly because I want to be able to pray for your needs more specifically. Thank you!

absolutely. I appreciate it. I have a combination of a brain tumor, and multiple stomach problems.

If you are in fact unable to work out with your knee, the workout place may put a hold on your contract for a month or longer if you need- 24 hour fitness did that for me before, I understand how you get hooked to exercise and just really want to do it- I love that! If you do end up having to do that, I think walking is still safe isn't it? Walking is addictive in the same way! I prayed for you!

Thank you for your prayers! Now today it feels much better, probably because I didn't work out this morning. I really should go to the doctor and see what they say about it and you are right, it is addictive! :)

As part of your contract, do you get any access to a trainer or someone on staff who could give you some advice on what you can still do with the sore knee to let it rest but to do some work elsewhere on your body? Maybe this is a good time to do some upper-body work (arms)?

Hope your night last night went well and that your knee feels better soon!

My husband has dealt with a bad knee before. You can buy a brace pretty much at any drug store. Also, check with a local nutritionist. I promise they can and will help!

MMMMM...okay....here is a stupid question....what exactly do you mean by a nutritionist? I know that there is a health food/vitamin store here in town. I've never been to it, but is that what you mean or do you mean someone else? I am really quite dumb when it comes to nutrition/vitamins/health etc. I'm a fairly healthy person, with the exception of being about 30 pounds overweight and the knee thing. Thanks for your help! :)

Look in the yellow pages, or ask around your church, or ask the health food store clerk. Many times you can find a follower of Christ nutritionist. *See at local book store: Christian books on nutrition. It will blow your mind... also a book that is full of great stuff: "The Makers Diet".

Thanks...I know my old pastor read "The Makers Diet" and he really really liked it...but I've never read it, I'll have to get ahold of it.

Thanks again for all of your help!
