When I broke my wrist I didn't have the same problem, but then they used a Hoffman's structure on it. I know that this time they originally wanted to put the plate in instead of the screws, but there was too much swelling so they simply didn't have enough space for a plate there. Now that's no longer a problem; also the big open sore is closed up nicely and won't cause skin necrosis, which was also a risk at the previous operation.

We do recommend the Dragon Age Origins game for something to do at the hospital. Took me 121 hours to play through. Don't play it if laughing hurts :)
