I'm getting psyched up for this cooking class.  Today I made a menu plan and a shopping list and I'm going to go do some grocery non-shopping this weekend and make up a price list so I can make sure the cost per student we are planning on will work out.  The only thing on the list I don't already make is bi bim bap, but I've got a while to test it ( Read more... )

Jason and I went and auditioned at the Tacoma Little Theatre today, for the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.  Both of our auditions went really well and the kids were magically good for 2 1/2 pre-bedtime hours while we waited to be called.  It was very cool.  We'll find out in a few days.

Amtrak is sending me a $250 travel certificate.  Next time we go on the train, looks like we can afford a sleeper car!  Maybe without the kids...

Next Thursday!  Tutoring/test prep with teanagers for a local nonprofit.  They said I will be at the top of the list of tutors they give to the schools!  Woot!

Bonus, I actually really want to do this!

Petfinder at least responded to my second attempt to post an ad with them, after a day, to let me know that I needed to increase my adoption fee.  Arrgh!  People in Tacoma do not pay $25 for kittens.  No, really, they don't.  If they could they would buy one from a pet store.  I realize that would be some assurance against abuse, but it's too much ( Read more... )

Daphne had her first day of school today.  I'm a little worried.  She apparently had some trouble with the inside voice concept and she had some not very nice things to say about it after school.  Anybody with a loud kid want to reassure me?  I just don't want her to get labeled a bad kid, it's too easy for that to happen to her.  She hit it off ( Read more... )
