So, craving chocolate milk, I trudge to the local grocery store, Ken's, but they are all out. DANG. But I rilly rilly rilly want something chocolatey, so I get some Breyers® Rocky-Road.

Neti: day 2
I gotta say, after Day #2 of neti-pot application, my breathing and sinuses feel wonderfully clear, although the niggling sore throat continues. Some people do the neti-ing daily: that seems a bit much, but I can surely see doing it on a weekly basis. Maybe if I looked up the actual correct salinity recipe it'd be even more effective (or not).

Tone: irony
I'm getting TIRED of the relentless tone of "irony" used by the blogs I read: everything is coded, left-handed, and for those in-the-know. Pandagon is especially guilty of this, but it's endemic.
Irony is the rust, corrosion, and abrasive of communication. If one wants to get a point across, just fucking say it.

WEEKS I've had an off & on sore throat, with accompanying sinus stuff. Lovely. Here in the Home of Alternative Medicine, where you can't swing a dead cat without hitting some form of 'healer', I decided it was time to see if a "neti pot" might offer some relief.

Brilliant! BIOSHOCK in orbit!
OK, having just kissed TWO FRIGGIN' WEEKS productivity "goodbye!" due to BIOSHOCK (omg, what a great game), I was virtuously cleaning the place, mostly w/an eye to throwing stuff OUT, and came across my old paper copy of "The High Frontier", by Gerard O'Neill.
