the midwest seems to be the only area that is obsessed with getting people married off as soon as they graduate high school or college, if not before. it's like they don't believe there's anything else worth doing between getting your degree and like, dying.
take it from someone who hasn't had a serious boyfriend since college. (and yes, i realize even calling him a "serious" bf is a bit of a stretch, but just go with me here.)

but both of us would prefer to WAIT (shocking concept, i know) until we know it's the right time. i'm not just going to date anyone just so i can have someone. and you're not going to put derek into huge debt and settle for a ring now and a long engagement when you can wait for awhile, both be employed, and get the huge-ass rock you want.

I signed up for lj so i could search for your lj, read it and get an update on you and derek's life and I read a rant. I think you are way out of line. But that is probably me trying to instigate a fight.
You alls desition to wait is a good thing. Weddings cost money and so do divorces. Im kidding. When ever you all deside to tie the knott it will be the right time people can't presure you into it.
