I'm officially having an 'I suck' night. I've finally found some time to write, I have over 5,000 words all ready to go for the next Lighthouse Charlie chapter, the only problem? Everything I've written looks like complete rubbish ( Read more... )

Just ride the wave hun, just ride it out. Grit your teeth get it done, and then... edit :P

I'm quite positive you don't suck.
a) cos you're an awesome writer
b) because I may possibly have to "kill" you if you don't post the next chapter.

Seriously though, this is just a speedbump. Speedbumps are good in a way. They slow you down, make you evaluate more ... and ...um eventually help you prevent yourself from knocking over little kids on the road :(... and you know killing of stories and characters.

Charlie is not a harpy. We know that. A little on the loud side occasionally, but that is why we love her.

Okay, huge helpings of thanks for this! You were so right, I really just needed to grit my teeth and go for it. I'm going to post the next chapter immediately after replying to these wonderful comments so I hope I get to escape the death penalty!

Charlie definitely has her harpy-ish tendencies, but I hope I managed to smooth some of them out and only leave the truly necessary narkiness.

Thank you so much for the encouragement, it was very, very helpful.

You've escaped the death penalty,:P Lucky for you I hopped on the plane after i sent this comment.

Once i sort my BB out, I'm gonna go review the chapter.

Honestly i didn't do anything though, sometimes we just have to remind eachother that getting the story out is important, and that there is always the option of going back and refining.

Max is Max he'll work out, he's unpredictable like that and Charlie? She's not a harpy =)

I can't wait till the next chapter, but until then don't worry too much just go with it, let it flow. That's the fun with writing it takes you places.

Ack, seriously, if you'd seen the draft I was working with yesterday I'm sure you would have suggested I was hardER on myself! Still, with your champion comment I worked through it and I'm using your remark that Max is unpredictable to get away with some things (here's hoping I pull it off!).

I'll give you a lovely bit of the most cliche advise out there: If you can dream it, you can do it. I believe in you. Sorry. I won't ever do that again, so cliche advise stops now. I know you can finish it and make it awesome like you do everything else! And if not...well...*clears throat awkwardly*...we won't get into that.

Cliche advice, yes, that was exactly what I needed! It made me laugh and I needed to lighten up. I really, really hope that the chapter I've ended up with is up to scratch. I'm worried about the slightly scary end to your comment! Seriously, thanks for pep talk, it was awesome.

Hi... you probably dont know me jaja (i must say im from mexico.. so you can expect that my english is a little bit rusty)mmm but i´ve read all of your work on fiction press (hope you don't think i'm stalking you... x_x) but just let me tell you that for me, you are my favorite author!! i love your stories, the plot line, the characters, the sassyness (dont know if thats even a word) of the remarks.. wow!! its really mindblowing!!

i can honestly say that i must check once or twice a week if there are new chapters posted!! so hang in there =)!! i know you can do it...in hopes of helping you in the only way a can think of.. ill send you all the positive and creative energy so you can find the way!!

p.s_ im new in all this livejournal thing so i dont even know if this is going to get to you, but if it does!! is really nice finally telling you how much i enjoy your stories... this may sound corny, but even when ive had a terrible day.. reading your stories always gets me in great mood..so thank you!!! =)

Wow, you blew my mind with your fantastic comment. How could I not post another chapter after reading what you said? It's amazing to me that people read my stuff and enjoy them, I can't really describe how hapy it makes me.

I think your positive and creative energy should be bottled and sold somewhere because you'd make a fortune, it did wonders for me! Next chapter is about to be put up and you're a big part of it happening.

I think, from now on, if I'm having a terrible day I might just read your comment in order to get myself into a better mood. You're lovely, thank you.

Wow, I can see this descending into a 'you're awesome, no YOU'RE awesome' circle here!

You can definitely get an account on FP and only read stories, not write them. But if you want to just read stories without bothering with that, then that's obviously cool too.

Thank you, so, so much for being so lovely. I'll work hard to get the new chapter out, promise!
