Today I took a break from the ennui of studying to instead deal with the matter of what the heck I'm going to schedule for next semester. I've lined up all my requirements and the classes available to fill them and I've come up with a decently workable schedule. Essentially, I've piled all but one class onto Monday or Thursday. I decided to go out to Kinkaku-ji today to see the place again and stretch my legs. The weather forecast called for clear to partly cloudy in the high 40s low 50s. The trip to Korea is really coming together now. Initially there we had talked of going to Fukuoka and catching the ferry out of there, but I ran into Sasha and she suggested a ferry that ran from Osaka, which I hadn't even found on my previous searches. Today Ted and I went to the immigration office to get the re-entry permit for the trip to Korea. The only problem is that we've got plans pretty well worked out, but there was talk of inviting one or two other people, which might throw off the plans or just make everything more complicated. I seem to be getting back into the swing of things here more easily than I thought. Rather than the few days of lethargy and screwy sleep habits I ran into before, I went to bed last night around ten, got a solid night's sleep and woke up around 10:30 AM. Well, failure to take off at any rate. I was supposed to be on board my United Airlines flight to Chicago, there to connect with my direct flight to Osaka. However, my flight got canceled due to inclement weather around Chicago. Strange then that all the other flights were still going, or at most, delayed for an hour. Sigh ( Read more... )
