Back To School Night, 1st Observation from CS, PDP, & Phil of Ed

Lots of stuff to talk about! I will admit and say it's all basically cut and pasted from my reflective journal (a necessary component to my internship as my adviser indicated) to save time. But my PDP and Phil of Ed are actually stuff I typed here and now. So here it goes! Be ready for a handful!

Ohhh nice job on the lesson. I apparently have issues with pacing. I'm trying, but it's very hard when kids are non-compliant and behind in their grasp of the material. It can really slow me down so I have to remember to 'teach to the top.' I'm glad your students were engaged. Nice job!

BTS night is fun and not really too stressful, IMO. I don't mind it.

Yeah, pacing is definitely tricky! At the heat of the moment/lesson, I feel my pacing is either going too fast/slow, and it's always hard to tell.

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed Back to School Night. That gives me a little more comfort that it is really not as bad as it seems! I just dread facing parents/guardians sometimes because they scare me more than their kids :P

Up
