Writer's Block: Time to move on
Truth be told, I'm counting down the days until I leave this city. I don't hate it here, but I'd rather be a visitor. Small doses wouldn't be so bad. Aside from a handful of people, I generally hate the idiots here. This probably stems from my job, but generally, everyone is nosy, very into themselves, and lazy (when they think they're not!).

Okay, I am going to willingly admit this. I am a kart-racing whore. They're my all-time favourite video games. Sure, I do like games with a great story, but sometimes it's nice to just drive around, shoot people, and blow things up. It's official. I have World Cup fever. Except, I suck at the sport. REALLY SUCK. I hate all the running involved (I prefer sprinting vs. endurance), and I never could kick the ball where I wanted to in gym class. So, I finally got off my lazy-ass and rented Inglourious Basterds. It was a really great movie. My brother didn't like the pacing of it when he saw it in theatres, but I actually think that it was set up perfectly. Each chapter had the right amount of development, tension, gore and humour. Thursday, I spent my afternoon reading what I would argue as one of my favourite pieces of fiction that I've read so far this year. Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy is supposed to be geared for a younger audience (i.e. pre-teen/teenagers), but it's so well-written and captivating that you don't really notice it. Reading week is basically over, and I've been just as productive as previous years: I thought about getting stuff done. I have done a good chunk of translation work, and I intend on finishing it later this afternoon, but I was planning on writing an essay and I never really did get to that.
