the end of 2009.

Feb 23, 2010 02:21

i passed out close to 10pm and can't sleep any more. i'm tried of constantly "working" on the end of 2009 survey, the one i do before every new year. i've tried to sit down and complete the damn thing in one fell swoop countless times, and it's always been at the back of my head taunting me so i think now's the time to end this once and for all!

i'm finally done! )

another one down...

1) Kissed a boy?! Dumpster dove?
2) I didn't know you had contacts! I have them too, now, you know!
3) I want a happy Dana in 2010 as well!
4) I'd gladly take a depressing 'Best of 2009' (quoted loosely) mix!
5) In some ways, I would like to do a post like this. But I am just not as open about my life as you are, and so would probably end up leaving A LOT out. I also tend to forget a lot and would take a long time trying to think of answers to those questions.
6) I love the way you write. Truly. I wish I wrote as eloquently.

1.) haha yes. but not at the same time.
2.) i didn't know you got contacts! or that you had such horrible eyesight that corrective lens were even necessary! when'd you get yours? i got mine back in april, mostly because i was getting ready to dance for rdg.
3.) :) thanks jessica. so far, so good.
4.) heh ok! i'll get working on compiling mine. does this mean you're finally done with your best of 2009 cds?
5.) i like doing this every year, in one sitting. it's nice to spend some real time just reflecting on the past year and what to look forward to in the upcoming year. like i said, it's my way of dumping and it feels good to me. meh. you could always answer the questions in a private entry...? at the very least, it'd be interesting to see how you change and where you come from in a whole year's time.
6.) you're making me blush. it's been so long since i've written like this, so thank you for the compliment and for reading!...it's encouraging. i'll try to write more, for sure.

Well, I first got glasses during freshman year of college. I remember all through senior year of high school, I would have trouble seeing things on the white board. Christopher happened to be in almost every class with me, so I frequently turned to him and asked him if the board (generally a projector screen type thing) was blurry, or if it was just me. He told me it was just me. After doing this a million times, he told me I really needed to get my eyes checked. I knew I did because I hadn't been to an optometrist since elementary or middle school, but I just didn't have the time. And then when I got glasses, I just couldn't get used to them and got dizzy and a headache from them. So I only wore them if I really couldn't see something on the board in college, or if I was driving at night ( ... )

Oh, also regarding the contacts: I hated how people in college would wave to me from a distance, and I had NO idea who they were. I would just smile and wave back at blurry forms. I could sometimes identify people by their clothing, but generally it took for them to come a bit closer before I knew who they were. So I like being able to actually see people now. And my god, what a difference it makes when watching tv! I had no idea! I only wore my glasses to watch sports because the scores were too small for me to see. But apparently I was missing out on the features of some beautiful faces!

kinda in drag, there was a 70's party at my house in tacoma and i dressed up as a dude. as for the amateur porn contest, cleverly titled HUMP (http://post.thestranger.com/gyrobase/hump5/page), my friend and i talked about it and decided that it would be a porn + documentary mix. on our car ride up to canada, we hatched out a rough draft of all the scenes and how they'd be shot and titles. i have all the notes written down in a notebook but basically we wanted to mirror bio documentaries and called each one "the fucking ___" ie (chase) where a girl would be pursuing another girl who she found an attractive stranger on the street; (dance) how people socialize and mate/hook up at dance clubs/bars; (fight) where two guys fight for the attention of a girl, etc. in the end, it would've all climaxed (haha pun intended) with everyone finding their special someone and getting their grooves on;) something to this effect. maybe if we have time this year, we'll ( ... )

Haha! If you ever get the ball rolling on your porn project, I'd love to help. :)

Eep. The day. I'd also love to read your update about how the seven-year anniversary made you feel and all. (That's just some encouragement for you to get it done...hehe.)

Lots of <333!
