i'm doing a media and communications degree, and the first semester is journalism. that fucking inverted pyramid will destroy the writer within.

i would love to go into publishing, but really, i just want to write my own book.

let's morph, or something.

I know. I just dream about all these books and how I'd love to sit and write them. Books, and scripts. I really should just do it. The computer in my house is near everybody else in my house though, and I know I can't do it when people are around. I need to get the ten year old lap top working.

i knwo the feeling all too well. i have a news report due tomorrow, and im trying desperately to write it, but everyone keeps milling around me, mid argument, mid conversation, mid boxing match...

highly irritating. then, they get angry at me when i tell them to fuck off.

moving out with a lap top is looking mighty attractive. i know this sounds pretentious, but i long to sit in cafes and write dialogue based on what people around me are saying.

ha, i love stuff like that. listening to people is hilarious, i think. and they know you're listening most of the time. which is funnier.

Have you read Steven King's On Writing? Bloody great book about writing books. Pick up a copy if you haven't read it.

No, I haven't read it, but I will. I usually like Stephen King's writing that isn't scary. I don't like scary. I get scared.
