I assume you're referring to the recent Death Eater attacks. They're no reason to stop being optimistic. They just mean we can't get pessimistic. If we get pessimistic, we despair. When we despair, we lose the will to fight back.

I've always been a pessimist, really. The Death Eater attacks were the flamethrower to that little bit of kindling that was always somewhere inside me.

I wasn't too concerned at the time about how it would come out. The whole "DOOM" factor sort of stole my attention.
