completely random rant

I've recently realized that I press the apostrophe key (yeah, the one next to the enter key) with my index finger. I'm not sure if I picked up the habit recently, or if I've been doing it all along, and it's only coming to my attention now that I'm using a different keyboard. Since acquiring my new laptop I've noticed a tendency to unintentionally ( Read more... )

I... type with all five fingers of my left hand and only the index on my right for 90% of the time (occasionally the middle and ring, but rarely and sporadically) so I probably beat you for weird typing habits. Yey?

It really isn't that tough, left hand functions on everything that flows from it-- usually up to "t" on first row, "g" on second and "b" on third, but I just broke that on "thing" (ng -> index/middle on left) since it just... works that way. Actually ring/middle finger on right get used fairly often these days, as compared to the last time I observed how I typed some years ago, like for backspace and....other keys, totally randomly.

i use my pinky unless im pressing the shift key. i use my ring finger to hit "p" though, since my pinky's too short. =(

I think it's normal to use the ring finger to hit P? Using the little finger feels really awkward

yeah, what jez says. anyway don't you use the left shift so that your right pinky can press the apostrophe?
