Why I love the Tour

For those of you who don't know, the Tour de France started last Saturday. Before it even began, 20 or so of the riders were given the boot due to doping allegations, among those 20 were the top 2 contenders, Jan Ullrich and Ivan Basso. Because they are no longer in the race it has opened up a window of opportunity for many riders who wouldn't have

You know I never followed the Tour in years past but this year I'm kind of enjoying it. Watching a stage here and there. I think it's pretty interesting to watch how everything works, and to see the strategies that come into play.

I have to thank Graham for getting me into it. He gave me the crash course and now I'm on the road leading me away from Tour-Ignorance. :)

Yeah, I find that as I explain it to people they like it more. WHen they just think it's a pack of bikers going pell-mell up the street (which, mind you, it is) they think it's horribly boring. But once they understand the pain, technique, strategy, etc., they actually appreciate it.
