I adamently believe that rythmic gymnastics is NOT GYMNASTICS!!!  For crying out loud, people, it's glorified baton twirling.  If they want to do that in the Olympics, that's fine, but call it something else - like Modern Interpretive Dance with Props.  It's an insult to all the short tiny girls in the world.

Oh no, don't be dissing my rhythmic gymnastics. It's the Cirque du Soleil of the Olympics. Shoot, if archery, trampoline and badminton can be sports then so can the skinny tall women hurling hula hoops and jump ropes way up in the air and catching them on their toes. My favorite part is how the announcers keep calling them "athletes" over and over. ;)

Ah, but the trampoline was so amazing. They get incredibly high! It's especially entertaining when viewed in fast forward. :)

Not sure about shooting, as a rule I don't diss people that could kill me from a far distance. I can see that it takes a lot of skill, whether that skill is athletic however is another thing. That's the thing about the Olympics, so many events are more talent or skill IMO than sport or team. I guess that's what makes them interesting and different.

True. Very true. I love curling, but a lot of people mock it. But I lived in Alaska, so have a different perspective. It's a game on ice, played with brooms, and you can drink beer while you play. Not a bad deal.

Yeah, they are pretty lame. I also was surprised to see that table tennis was a sport. Seriously, ping pong is a sport. I won't be surprised if video games aren't included in the next Olympics.

Actually table tennis is pretty hard if you're a pro. You have to stay low, move constantly and swing pretty hard to get "spin". It's a lot different than playing ping pong in someones garage. Just saying. :)

Lame. For sure. Agree that Trampoline is weak too. What sickens me is that they are getting rid of Softball. Its a real sport for god's sake. And don't even get me started with the "cheerleaders" alongside the beach volleyball games. WTF is that?
