Another Portal post (though why do I even bother)

Hello? Are you still there? /turret voice

I’ve had this song on constant repeat for the past few days. It’s an orchestral medley of a bunch of the songs from the game, which at times, to me, sounds very Doctor Who-ish. I don’t care if you play Portal or not… JUST LISTEN. I love the bit at 5:05 where the violin melts You Know Her? into Exile Vilify ( Read more... )

Haven't listened to the medley yet (though I am dying to!) but I just wanted to drop by and say - I had no idea you liked Portal!

Haha, the animation made me laugh so hard! That is just typical Wheatley. (He is so pathetic, floating around up there in space, getting shot down by Siri. D: Poor thing!)

Oh wow you drew art for The Itch - and it is gorgeous! :D I love how tall Wheatley is and the kissy-faces and Chell on her tiptoes! (It helps that The Itch is the sequel to my favourite Portal fic ever. And in my two three in its own right. And you've illustrated it - well, the post-post-post-Itch bit, as you said, hehe - beautifully. <3)

I played the first game months ago and never got around to the second one till recently. But I knew the major story and whatnot thanks to my roommate and pals at work. But I've been hanging out with a lot of Portal fans in Turntable along with basalt and their enthusiasm rubs off on you. It's fun!

Oh, Wheatley. He's going to grasp onto that 0.0000000001% chance. I wished I saved the conversation, there were so many great lines.

I'm so pleased you're aware of Blue Sky and The Itch! I wanted to draw something for Blue Sky after I finished it, but I could never come up with anything good enough. And like I said before, I usually just keep my drawings fairly tame (and to be fair, this is still really tame), but after I read The Itch, I was like NO IT CANNOT END THERE.

Thanks!

I totally missed the first game until the second one came out, pretty much! Then I bought both and played them. To death. Have yet to complete the co-op, though ... The fandom as a whole seems small but lovely, and yes, definitely fun!

Yes, he is! Good for him, poor sod. Hehe, I can imagine!

That was exactly how I felt after reading The Itch! Your addition to the ending makes the fic even better, I think. <3

Portal 2 is a big deal at our house right now. We LUV the music. I listened to this song at work today. Thank you for sharing!

Don't know much about the fandom of your art, but your art skill are impressive. :)

Look at me still talking when there's science to do...

I downloaded all the soundtracks that Valve put online. Soooooo many great songs, most of which I never notice in the game! I suppose that's a good sign, that it's so intertwined that it just blends in with everything. But UGH. This medley. I listened to it about ten times in a row today.

Haha, it's okay! It's just a post-Portal 2 fic called Blue Sky where Wheatley comes back and uploads (downloads?) into a humanoid robot. The Itch is its one-off follow-up.

LET'S SCIENCE. *grabs hand*

That's lovely, even though I don't know the fandom. I love your art style!

Haha, thank you, bb! I appreciate the comment. And really, the above drawing basically has absolutely NOTHING to do with the actual game its based on.

I SAID IT WAS NSFW. Yes... well, The Itch is the sequel to Blue Sky. We just convinced Bunny to read and she is a smitten kitten.
