Scans: Trinity 4

Jun 28, 2008 11:20

Well, the boring purple Konvikt is still around, being boring and purple this week.  But the fight scene does have some good character touches, showing the Trinity working together at each thing they do best.

Also, more of Eddie advertising that hey, Batman, call me anytime.  I love you for your mind.

Batman "inspires" a family to move to safety:

I'm not liking the divided storylines of the issues, but I guess I can see why they did it...

I do think that Superman may realize the danger to lover friend in the next issue, but will it be in time???!!!

I guess only time will tell.

It would work if I was more interested in the second part. When I like the characters in the second half it goes well, but so far Tarot hasn't done a lot for me, so it kind of turns into skimming when she shows up.

I'm sure Batman can hold his own pretty well against the alien, but the image of Superman and Wonder Woman rushing to the rescue is too nice to not hope for. :)

I think you hit the nail on the head...

The Tarot plotline is boring as hell and way too talky dealing with people I've mostly never heard of and don't care about.

Yeah, I'd say I'm right there with you on the skimming thing....

It's like having an OC in a fanfic (well, I guess exactly like that, since all comics are basically paid fanfic with established characters)--until you establish her as a full character I'm not interested, but that makes attempts to establish her unininteresting. Maybe once she starts interacting with any of the other characters she'll click more with me--right now it's like "Meanwhile, there's a character I don't know doing things I'm not terribly interested in."

Oh God, when Morgaine says "And Batman... scares the Hell out of people?" I laughed so hard soy milk shot out of my nose!

I know--I'm a sucker for when people who usually use convoluted language just cut to the chase. Morgaine's not the brightest, but she makes a really good foil for Eddie here. :)

I totally agree with you on Wonder Woman and her place within the trinity.

I love the character, but she needs to have more of a sense of self (i.e. consistent writing) before people can easily make her a member of a Trinity. I think she could be, but no two writers seem to agree what role she fills...*is frustrated*

come from the extremes of Superman and Batman, and trying to shoehorn Diana in there tends to lead to awkward fits at best.

I've woken up with such a dirty/grumpy mind this morning. Most of the scans did nothing for me(maybe cos of said grumpyness, I'll look again later). On the other hand the line above makes me think of hot, but akward Trinity sex. Like it's their fisrt time together and there trying to figerure out where there all gonna fit. I can see either Bruce or Clark being submisive with the other one, but not in front of Dinana. I really don't see Dinana having a submisive bone in her body.

Dinana gives me a hard time. I'm never sure if I like her or not. My main exposure was the JL cartoons. In them I really didn't like her apart from when she was de aged. Maybe it was her blatent 'Batman, your so dreamy' thing? Or the fact there is a ton of BM/WW fic out there which I wished was BM/SM :P

Yeah, that one's a tough one to imagine.

The BM/WW in JLU never really rang right to me, somehow. I'm not sure why, but it felt...forced. With rare exceptions, Clark/Diana usually does too. I don't think it's just that it messes with my OTP, since I like Clois and Bruce/Selina just fine...it just feels so, "Well, Diana's obviously got to be with one of the Big Two."

Wait, the Riddler is now a cyborg called Enigma? The hell did I miss?
Man, such a Batfanboy though, that's great.

Enigma is a refugee from the alternate reality created by Emperor Joker in the storyline of the same name. I am shocked indeed that they pulled in such a minor alternate-universe character...and yet he is totally awesome. I assume he got disfigured when his reality collapsed? There are hints his motivation is more than sheer malice, and I'm dying of curiosity...
