Ah, the leader is Alan Scott, who's a Green Lantern but not a member of the GL Corps, so not bound by their rules. He's a Golden Age Gotham hero, so it makes sense he was around and active when the invasion happened...
Also, yay Kara! I got especially fond of her in this arc and it's been killing me to have people not like her, lol...

*grin* The Metropolis cell of the resistance has a few familiar names, and the secret headquarters has collected up most of the scientist characters from canon...there'll probably be more, although I think Kara, J'onn and Selina will end up being the most important characters beyond Kal and Bruce. *looks itchy to get writing*

I don't think I've ever been so pumped for the characters as I am with this series. The reveals, the secret society, the 'friend' who's working with the Cat. The blond man has *got* to be Arthur.
Baby steps, says Bruce. But it looks like Kal's going to be thrown into the scrum pretty soon enough. I can't wait!

Actually, the blond leader is Alan Scott--the Golden Age Green Lantern who has their powers, but isn't a member of the Corps (so he can fight back more than they can). The Kryptonians have mostly left Atlantis and Arthur alone, so he might not be getting involved until late, if at all. *feels the itch to write him anyway, lol*

He's going to have to learn how to run pretty quickly, I think. I'm really looking forward to writing more--I finished the first chapter a couple of days ago and am dying to have the time to write more!

Selfishly, I hope you find all the time in the world :D It's wonderful both readers and the author are all pretty excited for more in this AU. *cheers for Jen*

Kal is just so sweet in this. You write him with a sort of inherit gentleness. Its lovely.

Hee..."mild-mannered scion of the House of El" isn't quite as natural as "mild-mannered reporter," is it? :)

...alright, I totally did. Loudly. Mostly because I was like, "I was right about Zhon!" and then I realized it was way awesomer than that. :D
The sense of reverence in the last bit I so loved, too. The almost religious feeling was lovely and moody, and Alan! That is Alan, ya? Kinda great! XD
More than kinda great. This is just getting better and better. :)

That is indeed Alan! He had his ring before the Kryptonians arrived and isn't in the Corps, so he's been biding his time and working hard. *hearts Alan* I've been debating whether either Barry or Wally would have their powers in this AU, actually--since neither would be a chemist, but...they could be enslaved to a Kryptonian master who's a chemist...
*wanders off, pondering more*
*runs back*
Thanks so much for the comment--I'm thrilled you're liking it so far!

A clan of speedsters would certainly make for fugitives that would give the Kryptonians a hard time trying to get them... well, as long as one of the more sensible ones was being listened to. "No heckling the evil overlords!" Of course, still being enslaved could have them devious/oppressed/all sorts of things... I'm scared to think about what the Kryptonians might do to them if they knew they could run faster than the flight...
Okay, okay, I'll stop and just have to be patient and see. XD

They had a weird, black-humor sort of fun with those scenes which made writing them both challenging and enjoyable. Like, "Let's play it to the hilt" sort of feeling. :)
I've been enjoying Kara and J'onn immensely and having a terribly hard time keeping myself from leaping to their defense. :) I'm really happy to be able to write them more honestly from here on in. :) Thanks so much for the compliment!
