Scans: Trinity #10

Aug 09, 2008 13:03

This week in Trinity the mind-control hints continue in intriguing ways, and the Crime Syndicate shows up (but so far just postures a bit).

More to the point, Dick and Tim eat cukewiches and Dick gets his butt ogled by a talking gorilla in a metal corset.

No, really.

Seeing the Crime Syndicate drives Superman almost round the bend, which triggered a ( Read more... )

Etta has being present for awhile now in Gail Simone's run so I guess since she's Diana's current supporting cast, it made sense to get something out of Etta.

I think for Clark:

Foe= A vial of Lex Luthor's blood, in an early page Lois is talking to a cop named Benny outside a Lexcorp (which is sorrounded by cops) and she finds out from him that someone stole a vial of Luthor's blood.

Friend= Lois' electronic notepadd, same page where she talks to Benny she tries to get her notepadd out and finds out it's gone (you can also see a hand grabbing it).

Ah, thanks for clearing up the Superman items! I knew they'd been mentioned, I just couldn't call up the memories easily...and I'm lazy so I knew someone who's a better reader than I am would mention it. :)

It is really good to see TPTB using Etta a bit. She's a strange character in some ways, with that comedic Silver/Gold Age feel, but I could get used to her...

Is the gorilla bit written by Nicieza? I know he's used a similar joke before (RE: Nightwing's ass and tights), only it was with 3 attractive ladies and Dick didn't seem to mind nearly as much.

Still, this seemed amusing.

Yep!

The best (only good?) part of Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul were the Nightwing issues.

*snicker* Somehow I just love Tim and Dick being gallant with female villains. They're adorable...

Completely random and silly, I think, but is there a reason why Dick and Tim don't have their masks on in the 1st/2nd panels (on the fourth page you posted), but after Alfred brings them food, they suddenly decide to start wearing them again? I feel like I missed something. (I would've made a witty joke, but apparently, my brain is not up to it tonight. *sigh*)

I really need to start buying Trinity. I'm beginning to get pulled in by it.

Thanks for posting, btw. Who wouldn't want to see Dick getting ogled by a gorilla? XD Dick and Tim sleuthing together is awesome. Gah, I love Bat!family.

Um....they slapped them on really suddenly so as, uh, not to be identified by Alfred? *grin* Or the artist was rushed and made a really big continuity blunder, one of the two., Man, somehow I never notice things like that...

As it became clear that Trinity was going to pull in most of the DCU I thought I'd be disappointed to lose the tight focus on the Trinity, but actually I'm really liking the way the universe seems to fall into patterns around them. It works nicely.

I'm guessing that Jimmy's signal watch could get stolen as an item from Superman's "friend".

I forgot to add that since one of the Batboy's mask is stolen, perhaps and item from an "Ally" is also needed? Or is it just three items taken?

I think the pipe was a replacement for the mask since it went BOOM! when they tried to steal it.

Ah, I get it now. I rely on Jen for what's going on in this series since I don't buy it.

It seems to be three items, with an implied final tenth item to tie it all together (there are three spaces left but they say they need four items...)

They've already got Lex's blood and Lois's, uh, viewscreeen thingy. The signal watch would have made sense, but...when I think about it, that would have gone missing a lot more dramatically...

Color me intrigued at this point. :)

Would this make Batman...the American Way?
Or possibly "other stuff" or "all that stuff"? ;)

I do wonder if Batman not remembering things could be how his manner is changing a bit like the other two? Being prepared and knowing everything is part of the core of his persona so not being able to remember would make it very difficult to operate effectively.

Yeah, obviously the forgetfulness is not natural at all. Though it's tough because I don't tend to see Kal and Diana are unprepared...but maybe they're more flexible and that amounts to the same thing for Batman... *ponders*
