Seriously, though, I always get worried when game manufacturers start talking about "targeting the female market", as if it's somehow one huge homogenized thing. It's just... yeah. One the other hand, starting out with some body/costume options that are slightly less than 100% skanky would be a great start (one of the major things WoW made a big effort to get right during its beta; one of the things AoC didn't, and has been regularly criticised for).

I know, it makes me queasy. "Girls! You like sparkly costumes, right?" Designer People, you have no idea what I want in a game, but it's basically what a lot of male players want--intuitive gameplay, balanced classes, quest lines that feel like I'm accomplishing something real and not just collecting crap. With DC I want to start off low-level and eventually have the respect (in a positive or negative sense) of the JLA. But I do actually want to start off as unremarkable or it's less satisfying...

Solid stories in my quests is what I like the most. I want to feel immersed in a world, like I'm really part of it. That they have established writers working on the dialogue and stuff is a good sign to me, actually.
