This is not the day to be working. As some of you may now, there is a category 4 hurricane in the Caribbean. It's projected to impact Jamaica tomorrow. And we have quite a few travelers there and traveling to there in the next couple of days. The St. Lucia airport (UVF) was closed yesterday as the hurricane passed by but appears to have reopened ( Read more... )

I heard about the hurricane on the news and thought that it may be creating problems for trips that you booked.

Petaluma is 45 minutes north of SF and is indeed a boring drive. From what I remember, there's not much to do there (although, they do have a nice downtown area; and the bowling alley).

Okay, then it's like an hour and half (or thereabouts) from my house depending on traffic. Neither of them are very avid bowlers. It's an odd move (in my opinion). He hated the commute (Scotts Valley to San Rafael once a week, 3 days on 4 days off). It's a lot cheaper and that seems to be the motive for the move (along with the reduced commute).

Wow, that must really be hard having to deal with the hurricane stuff. I remember back in '05, I worked for a cancer charity, and about two months into working there, Hurricane Katrina happened. It was so hard to get people to donate money, because everyone was giving all they had to the Red Cross.
