pay bills online

Here are some great reasons why we should all sign up for e-billing. For me it's hard to think of not having the security of a hard copy of things that are important, but the reasons are pretty compelling. All the more compelling after my recent visit to Vancouver Island with Boubabe, where all the Big Trees live.

For me, it saves me the hassle of shredding the document later. Plus shredded paper can't go into the recycling (I wonder why?).

Yeah, it's weird. We have that problem at work. We have a small shredder for shredding pages with patient names on them. Oh well, at least shredded paper composts fairly easily in the City's digesters.

I haven's switched yet, still afraid of not having the physical piece of paper. I guess I'll feel better if I organise myself to have the files saved on the computer, and backed up. But shredded paper can be recycled here...

Recycling doesn't make the big trees grow back once they're cut down. Only 400 years will do that.

I agree with you, it's hard to make the mental switch. But I think I'm ready for it.

Currently I only get my Epcor bill via e-post. I had asked a while ago about my other utilities but they could not at that time. With spring upon us and time to shred my old bills and recycle my newspapers now would be the time to check again. I do pay my bills online though.

I pay everything online, but I like to get the physical piece of paper as a reminder of the bill. I still have too many instances where I fail to receive an e-mail reminder of something that needs to be done every 30 days....and it goes undone.

I did notice that TELUS recently changed their TOS such that they will start forcing it on their customers....not because they are so concerned about the environment, but because it will save them money.
