Late yesterday afternoon the "downsize" ax fell---and I got "chopped".

First time in my long life I've ever been without a job.

Really bad time to be unemployed, too. I see a total crash & burn in my future, and we ain't talkin' 'bout no airplanes, either. Nobody's interested in a 58 year old single white male with mild spina bifida...

Best of luck, Jim! Sadly we know your predicament, since Danny's been out of a job since October (he's got his hopes up about an interview he's got coming up Monday, but who knows). At least he's drawing Social Security and has his Army pension helping out, but we know that at age 58 you seem to be stuck in the unhappy medium of being too old to be desirable to recruiters and too young to hang it up and call it a day.

I think you are skilled enough that you can find a good job. Hit up the other dealerships Or get in contact with those who you worked with in the past that got chopped earlier and see if they are in a way of getting you a job where you are now.
