So, my company, which is a non-profit vocational rehabilitation company, is building a new building and there is a union protesting our project because we did not use a local union approved company.  We would have used them except their bid was $300,000 over the competition's and being a small non-profit we could not afford it.  The company we are ( Read more... )

Last week one of the students that comes to work here died.  She was 25 years old and was about to age out of the school system and transition into my program.  Yesterday, one of the girls in my program, she is almost 30, wanted to make a card on publisher for the student who died's mom.  She was working on the computer for like an hour and then ( Read more... )

My sister came to work with Michelle and I today.  She has to get in some community service hours over spring break, so she gets to come in and hang out with us all day.  It is really strange seeing my sister around the building, but it is interesting how natural he is in working with everybody.

Coming back to work on a Wednesday after being off since last Friday is pretty sweet…  All I work is 3 days this week then I’m off till the 3rd.  The best part?  Getting holiday pay for the days I don’t work.  It’s a weird feeling sitting at home all day and making sweet cash at the same time…  Anyway, let’s get down to the nitty gritty…

Well, my beer went over well.  I made special labels that looked like real beer labels but they had the name of my company on them.  It was alot of fun and most every one came up for seconds/took some home in their bag.  There is some left over and I get to take it home so yah!  Also, I made some labels with the presedent of our company on them to ( Read more... )
