Sadly, that sign for the proper way to sit on a toilet is sometimes needed. I was visiting the music building at San Jose State University, where I went to school. I saw a similar sign in the women's restroom. Someone said that it was necessary - they had some foreign students who were unfamiliar with western toilets and squatted on the seat rather than sit, sometimes leaving a mess.
