First session of the season has just ended.   Sometimes it was in blazing sunshine, with the glare off the water almost blinding me, and sometimes it was in thick snow with the wind whipping the waves and wetting my face.   Two wetsuits kept most of me warm, but my feet and hands were like blocks of ice for most of it.   After each ride I had to go ( Read more... )

I is now a red belt.   Which means I get to move up the class a bit more.   Also, people who don't know about karate may think that a bold colour like red signifies that I'm really good, whereas in reality it's just the second grading.   I was in the first group up, so I was in and out in 10 minutes (sounds like .... oh never mind).   All that work ( Read more... )

I saw this, and thought of you.

4.5 miles in 50 minutes. Felt a little breathless at times. Even though getting up out of a chair hurts my legs, actually running isn't really a problem provided I go slowly. Karate tonight may be a little interesting. Perhaps I could get my mother to write a note for me before I leave here?
