As for planting your garden, just remember the rule of 4 - 1 seed to grow, 1 seed for the birds, 1 seed for the cats/dog, 1 seed to just not work.
Where is this Farmer's Market you speak of located? I'd like to try one out.

One is just off of Richmond between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway on Saturdays and Wednesdays. That's the one I went to.
The other one is at Onion Creek on Saturdays and Rice Stadium on Tuesdays. Haven't tried it out yet.

I take the bus home too, and it's not just 15 minutes extra to my mornings and evenings. But, I take a book, my DS, whatever and get something done that I would have done at home anyway. It makes it much easier. I figure the 30 minutes I would have been in the car doing NOTHING but staring at the car in front of me is worse than the hour I spend reading a good book or playing Super Pirncess Peach.
Anyway, baby steps. Don't get discouraged. :)
