Well, I saw the ophthalmologist this afternoon. The last thing they do now a days is dilate your eyes and then take a picture. The doctor pulled the picture up (I looked over his shoulder) and it was a big grey eyeball. I have an appointment with St Luke's to discuss cataract surgery on Monday. Not sure how fast the actual (1st surgery will be.)

Everybody says not. Haven't completely read the info they gave me yet. Have to fill out forms and call the doctor to see if the physical he gave me a couple of weeks ago counts as per-surgical. (Will also depend on when surgery is scheduled as must be within 30 days thereof). I suspect THAT may depend on how high my blood sugar read was. I've not been a good girl. *looks at shoes*

Yay, no needles!

I've been a bad girl recently, too.

My mom had cataract surgery this Summer and it went quickly and very well, you have nothing to worry about and will be fine, I said so! Thinking good thoughts for you. *hugs*

Thank you sweetie. Now all I have to do is find out why SSD didn't pay me this month. Sigh, I was just starting to relax.

Yeah, the actual surgery is a day-patient thing: they wheel you in, give you the local, do their thing, wheel you out all in about 4 hours

Yeah, I have a feeling they might have to dope me a bit more. Won't know until I actually try to live through it. Made it through my first ever surgery by myself but this one has been my worst nightmare for 25 years.
