Quitting smoking on Chantix sounds a lot like quitting smoking without Chantix... except worse.

Yeah, I'm thinking they are really marketing a sugar pill with very small concentrations of LSD ...

At least it doesn't allude to possible liver damage like most of the new prescription drugs I see for non-life-threatening conditions.

Well yeah, I mean, how about lowering cholesterol by pumping chemicals into the body that damage a marginal liver, who needs that ;)

You might think that the purpose of the drug was to minimize those withdrawal side effects, unless of course it just makes you so miserable that you forget all about nicotine addiction ...

I've know a few people who've used Chantix.
When it works without side effects, it works really well. When the side effects kick in, it fails in horrifying ways. Absolutely not worth the risk IMO.
