Chapter I: Fascination of Dead Bodies Chapter II: Killing a Mermaid Chapter III: Killing An Ex-Boyfriend Chapter IV: Killing A Possibly New Friend Chapter V: Killing Mr. Taxi Chapyet VI: Killing The One You Love CHAPTER VII: Killing Again
It's been almost two years. Taemin's family migrated to L.A. right after Taemin graduated high school. Taemin went to an art school. No, not because of his dancing but for photography. He was considered as the best among the freshmen but Taemin did not like taking pictures of nature or for school events and of popular people like a paparazzi. He had the talent but couldn't bring himself to like it but at least he gets good grades and in the future, probably good money from it.
Freshman year just ended. Taemin spent his summer break by taking advanced minor subjects and doing part time jobs. Anything to keep him busy and normal like other people. He felt like he lost it all when he lost Jinki so now he's trying to recover and this time, he is sincere about trying to be normal even if he isn't really happy about it.
No more killing. No more post mortem photography. No more kissing, sex or playing with dead bodies. They don't own a funeral parlor anymore since they moved to L.A. so Taemin has no contact with dead bodies anymore and could continue on trying to be normal. His parents got themselves a job in the same mall but different stores.
On the first day of Taemin's sophomore year, Taemin found a giftbox inside his locker. A black box wrapped in a silky red ribbon. Why would somebody give him a gift? It's not even his birthday. An admirer perhaps? Taemin slowly pulled the ribbon. He took a slight peak of what is inside the box and immediately closed it. He placed it in his bag and headed off to class.
However, he couldn't concentrate on his lesson. His mind is still on the giftbox and his collection of dead photos inside. He thought his collection of dead photos were all destroyed but Jinki must have made copies, tore it all apart and scattered it in Taemin's room back in Korea while the original ones are being kept safe. It can only mean one thing. Jinki is alive and he is right here. Maybe not in the same school as Taemin but definitely here in L.A.
However, if Jinki is in this school, Taemin knows that Jinki would be in the art department like him except Jinki's major would probably be in painting judging from his talented but gruesome drawings from his sketchbook. Taemin was brought out of his thoughts when there was suddenly a lot of noise and a commotion.
Everybody was standing and trying to look at something outside the window including their teacher. Taemin made his way to the window and saw a dead body on the school ground. He suddenly ran towards the rooftop where he assumed the student must have jumped off from but he wasn't even able to reach the rooftop because he stopped running in front of the staircase the lead to the highest floor of the building.
Jinki was walking down on the stairs. He smiled at Taemin but didn't speak a word. He simply passed by and continued to walk down another set of stairs. Taemin didn't dare to shout out Jinki's name. Afraid that the Jinki he saw might just be an illusion. But it couldn't have been an illusion. The return of his collection of dead photos was enough evidence.
But still, Taemin didn't try to look back. He continued to walk forward up the stairs until he reached the rooftop. He looked at the dead body on the ground from the rooftop. For the first time after 2 years of nomalcy, Taemin had the urge to take a picture of a dead body. He didn't have his camera with him because it's in his bag. However, he did have his cellphone in his pocket.
His hand shook as he took a picture of the dead body. It wasn't nervous but instead, it was excitement. He took another shot with his hand not shaking and this time, he was rewarded with a better quality photo. This photo is going to be memorable for him because it's the first photo he took after 2 years. He zoomed in the photo and noticed that the victim's shirt was unbuttoned and that there was actually something written on the victim's body.
I Love You.
People are probably thinking that the student committed suicide because he got rejected from the person he loved. They don't know and they don't have to know that it was Jinki who carved those words on the victim's body and that those words were meant for Taemin.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Classes were over. Taemin was about to head home but then he saw Jinki by the school gate.
"Hey." Jinki greeted.
"Um... hi." Taemin replied shyly, blushing a bit. (Taemin's thoughts went like "Damnit! I've become too normal!)
"We need to talk. We have a lot to talk about in private. Do you have any place in mind?" Jinki asked.
"Let's just go to my house. My parents won't be home until the mall closes which is at 10." Taemin blushed again when Jinki's cold hand took a hold on Taemin's hand as they walked.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"This time it's really not an act huh? You really have become normal." Jinki said as he observed Taemin's room which was not even locked unlike how it used to be always locked back in Korea. The bedroom walls were still full of pictures but now it is of nature or people or things unlike back then when it used to be photos of dead bodies.
"Because being normal was the only way to get over you." Taemin brushed Jinki's bangs and saw scar on his forehead. A scar that was caused by the vase or rather by Taemin. "You went into a real coma this time around for a long time. When my parents told me that we would be moving right after graduation, I just took it as an oppurtunity to move on with my life. I didn't want to stay and see you die and even if you did live, I was afraid not at the thought of you wanting to kill me but at the thought of you not loving me."
"If you stayed in Korea, I probably would have killed you already." Jinki admitted. His cold hand wrapping around Taemin's neck. "I thought of different ways to kill you. My favorite was choking you to death while kissing you and plunging a dagger in your heart while spilling my seed inside you." Then he removed his hand away from Taemin's neck. "But you were here in L.A. and I was held back for a year in school because of my coma. After graduating, I told myself that I would come after you here in L.A."
"And do you still want to kill me?"
"If I did, I wouldn't have bothered to kill that person today. I would have killed you first. Besides, didn't you read what I wrote on that person's body?"
"I did but I can never be sure with you." Taemin's eyes widened when he saw Jinki handing him the sketchbook.
"You'll never believe me unless I offer my sketchbook to you, right? And I don't want to be hit on the head with a vase just because I refuse to give you my sketchbook." Jinki threw his sketchbook at Taemin's trash bin. "I love you." He wrapped an arm around Taemin's waist, leaning in to kiss him.
But Taemin held up a hand to stop Jinki. "I'm afraid I'm not the same Taemin you used to know and loved. Like you said, I'm so normal right now."
"You took a photo of the dead body this morning, didn't you?"
"Well... yes..."
"And you still love me, don't you?"
"So damn much, yes!"
"Then I'm quite sure that you're going to return to your crazy self." Jinki crushed his lips against Taemin.
Taemin does not remember Jinki kissing him like this in the past. Mouths wide open, tongues moving fast, lip biting, teeth clashing, bruising and bleeding. Jinki's cold hands were becoming warm fast under Taemin's shirt and on Taemin's skin. Taemin's hands clenched on Jinki's shirt, tugging it, breaking their kiss for like 3 seconds only to remove Jinki's shirt fast and reunite their lips again.
Jinki did not bother to remove Taemin's shirt because he did not want to break their kiss again but his hands were moving fast on removing Taemin's pants and he could feel Taemin's hands doing the same thing to him. Jinki sat on Taemin's bed and raised his legs so Taemin could pull his pants off. On the other hand, Taemin's pants just easily slid down his leg and he kicked it off before kneeling on the bed in front of Jinki.
"Who did this?" Taemin asked as he noticed his name being tattooed at Jinki's inner thigh.
"Someone downtown."
"Let's pay him a visit tomorrow."
"Why? Are you going to get yourself a tattoo?"
"No. I'm going to kill him." Taemin leaned down, kissing his name on Jinki's thigh. "Anyone who touches you underneath your clothes will be killed by me." The look in Taemin's eyes told Jinki that the old crazy Taemin was back.
"It's a date then." Jinki said, spreading his legs wider, not caring as Taemin entered in him hard, dry and painful.
ALTERNATIVE / REAL END
A/N: Gotcha, didn't I? Heheh~ This is the real ending or you could call it an alternative ending if you find the last chapter as a more suitable ending. This is just the happier one since I KNOW people would be disappointed with Jinki's death in the last chap so here ya go~ comments please? ^^ I know it should have been an "epilogue" but the reason why I didn't write "epilogue" is because I MIGHT feel like adding more to this story~ and if I do, I would continue it as chapter 8 and so on~
