I was attempting to organize my room a little, which is kind of a joke, but I made the attempt.  I was looking under my bed and pulled out a tupperware bin filled with a bunch of old photos I hadn't seen in forever.  They were mostly pictures from my childhood.  Me with stupid hair, flannel sweatpants, and a pee wee herman shirt.  Ya know, the good ( Read more... )

at my school we put on a dance show and part of the show were a series of dances that reflected things that happened in our childhoods. one dance was to a super mario song (this kid was dressed as mario and one like princess peach it was cool), one was about how this girls parents divorced and one was titled recess and everyone dressed up in things they would have worn when they were kids. your post reminded me of how i felt when i saw the show, really nestalgic (spelling will be the death or me) and sort of sad, but thats the way things are sometimes the only think we can do is learn form the past and hold on to those precious memories of our childhoods that we still have

that really, really made me happy. later today, i'm going to bus it to my childhood library. they always had this cage full of hamsters in the kids' section. i'm tempted to go see if they still have it, hopefully with a fresh batch of hamsters. being a big kid isn't what i thought it would be.

...or if you look ridiculous riding your bike like it's a spaceship from Star Wars.
goddammit. i need to learn how to ride a bike. fuck getting my license.

consider yourself lucky just to be one of the people in the world who can realize these things and try to make a difference. and you're right, the greatest thing that you can ever learn is to love and feel that love mutually, but you have to love yourself before anyone else will, or, for that matter, before anyone can love you.
