How long does it take me to get into a new fandom? Aparently only a week. I saw the movie Serenity when it came out but this week I finally started watching Firefly and now I'm really into it. So yes, that means it's time for yet another costume to make for Dragon*Con. I really like Kaylee and think I'm more like her but I would look horrid in the ( Read more... )

Oooh! I love Serenity/Firefly! I think you'd soo rock this costume! As for the beads...I feel your pain. You might want to investigate trim that is similar instead of hand beading everything. The crazies will come get you! (they took me away months ago)

Thank you. I really hope I can pull River off. She seems like a fun character.

Oh that is a good idea! I'm going to Hancocks friday, I'll have to look there. I've considered trying to glue the beads on as well instead of sewing them. Or getting one of those jewel machines that you make designs on pants with.

I'm going to have to steal your icon though lol.

Thank you! I'm a bit worried I won't pull her off well because I'm alot bigger than the actress but oh well. I can get into her character easy so that will help me alot.

Hmm, I don't think I know her. Do you think you can get me in touch with her? I doubt my other friend will be able to come and it would be awesome to have another Firefly gal to hang out with.

I saw a picture from D*Con and wow, there were soooo many Kaylees. One picture I saw said, 'Attack of the Kaylees'. She's such a cute character, but I think my friend will be able to pull her off better than me.

Hahah that's why I chose the most obscure Kaylee costume EVER! *point to icon* So obscure I'm pretty sure even Jewel herself didn't recognise it!

Thanks! I really hope so. I'm up to 5 costumes now that I have to make before the end of August. I have a feeling something will have to be let go, unless I really get to moving this summer.
