Snorri Update

Jun 25, 2012 16:48

Vet believes Snorri has an upper GI bleed, commonly known as an ulcer. They are not uncommon in ferrets. So it's four medicines, subcutaneous fluids as needed (syringes and backups acquired), and close monitoring. It should respond to treatment.

Thanks, Safiya and Matilda. His weight is currently 594 g, which I'm trying to remain calm about. This weasel's usual summer weight is about 900g.

On the up (?) side, he's begun hiding from me. It took 10 min to find him, hiding under the slipcover of the sofa where he's never hidden before. He also uses other weasels for camouflage, sleeping underneath a pile of them.
