New phone number, new company
After our 2~ year trial with T-Mobile, we're running (not walking) back to AT&T. We are also have new numbers since nobody around here expects a 617 area code.
If you happen to have my old number stored somewhere, contact me (or just call the old number and listen to the voicemail prompt) and I'll give you the new number. -
Fedora Development 3.0
When Fedora first started, there was Fedora Core, done by Red Hat, and Fedora Extras, done by the entire community (including Red Hat people). Core was special, and treated different. Fedora Activity Day - Fedora Development Cycle wrap up
We've finished up the FAD today. The net result of today's effort is a series of proposals to fix some issues and ultimately make life easier for maintainers and consumers. Up at 2:30am for my flight to RDU. Saving some money by taking the 5:10am flight. Hopefully some sleep can be recovered on the flight but if not the 3 hour time difference between SEA and RDU will not be so bad as I'll be quite tired enough to go to bed at a reasonable RDU time. 8am~ is going to come very very early tomorrow ( Read more... ) -
Presto!
I just did a "default" install of Fedora 11 i386, then installed yum-presto, and applied all the already published Fedora 11 updates. Instead of downloading 121 megs of 66 updates, the system downloaded 10 megs of delta rpms and reconstructed the updates. That's a savings of 92%! Recently I blogged about hitting 500 miles on my bike. On the way home from my second ride today I noticed that I had just passed 600 miles. A good pace for hitting 1K by the end of the summer. Looking forward to the 45 mile version of Flying Wheels next weekend! -
