There are myriad things I love about my new job: the responsibility, the challenge, the people, the fact that I get to work normal hours. But one of the things I love the most about it is that they sent me to China last week. I count myself insanely lucky that the job decided to send me along on this trip--it was an unlooked-for boon. Of course now I'll be working my butt off even *harder* to make sure they know it was a good decision!

The photos are gorgeous. The Christmas decorations are surprising indeed. The air pollution was not surprising sadly. Glad you did get a chance to do some sightseeing!

I knew going in that the pollution would be bad--I just hadn't understood how *bad* bad was, y'know? Such a shame, because it really is a beautiful country.

Great pictures! I am completely wowed by this trip! I would definitely have been down at the base of Mount Hua with the tea drinkers! What a scary climb!!!

Mount Hua is not a place I'd care to climb again, although I'd totally ride the cable car up! ;)

It looks like such a great trip, and your photos are beautiful as usual!

I loved the "disabled person channel." Also loved the roofs and the toll plaza. I bet you need to know how to use chopsticks in China, huh?

Yeah, knowing how to use chopsticks is a handy trick. One of the women on our trip is a lefty, and she had trouble with the chopsticks, so she always seemed to find some regular silverware :)
